Sharing and learning from international best practices in the BECCUS Working Group
We are excited to announce that Carbonway has become a proud member of the Alliance for Industry Decarbonization (AFID).
The Alliance for Industry Decarbonization was established in September 2022 by the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) to accelerate the decarbonization of the industrial sector, particularly focusing on those industries that are challenging to decarbonize. It is rapidly expanding its footprint with currently more than 60 members. IRENA has more than 170 member countries.
The alliance focuses on multiple pillars of action, including policy advocacy, technology innovation, financing and investment, and knowledge sharing.
As part of our involvement in the alliance, Carbonway is joining the working group on Bioenergy with Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (BECCUS). Bioenergy is poised to play a crucial role in decarbonizing industry by providing a renewable gas source and contributing to negative emissions when combined with carbon capture.
